Jazz Ensemble New Music Release from Kendor Music Publishing Continues Tradition of Excellence
Lakeland, Florida (June 6, 2023) – Kendor Music Publishing, long-known for its educationally-focused Jazz Ensemble music, has released its 2023-2024 Jazz Ensemble Music Catalog, including 13 new charts from Doug Beach Music. With an interactive online component to streamline easy and thorough selection, band directors can access free professional recordings and full ScoreVideos for each piece of new music, as well as Composer Insights videos where composers share inspiration and details about their new pieces.
Among many highlights in the catalog, the publisher has expanded into a new grade level – the Trek Jazz Series for grade level 2 – providing even more interesting music for bands with varying degrees of experience playing jazz. Published in Kendor Music Publishing’s color-coded series, the Jazz Ensemble Music charts are now grouped into five levels, which help directors better identify the music that best fits their ensembles: Quest Jazz Series (Grade 1), Gateway Jazz Series Grade (Grade 1.5), Trek Jazz Series (Grade 2), Journey Jazz Series (Grade 3), and Summit Jazz Series (Grade 4 and up).
“Our Jazz Ensemble release this year is filled with new music from experienced, well-respected composers as well as new and young talent making important contributions to the repertoire for jazz ensemble,” exclaims Kendor Music Publishing’s Instrumental Editor, Blair Bielawski. “I’m thrilled to be able to work with this music and share it with directors and young musicians.”
Composers and arrangers with new pieces published in Kendor Music Publishing’s 2023-2024 Jazz Ensemble Music release are Ryan Erik Adamsons, Kris Berg, Peter Blair, Jack Cooper, Michele Fernández, Vince Gassi, Ed Gaston, Jeff Jarvis, Andrew Lesick, Cam McAllister, Jamie Roth, Craig Skeffington, Carl Strommen, Anthony Susi, Terry White, and Greg Yasinitsky.
The popular Doug Beach Music catalog’s new releases feature Doug Beach and George Shutack as key contributors, as well as new music from composers Denis DiBlasio, Bret Zvacek, Dave Rivello, Mike Tomaro and newcomer Bryan Carter, the composer of the Illinois All-State jazz chart for 2024, “The Neighbor from Naylor”. The new releases from Doug Beach Music are accessible to young and intermediate Jazz Ensembles.
Each score, and its accompanying parts, are meticulously-edited and beautifully set for ease of reading. All Jazz charts come with SoloMate, free play-along tracks for practice of improvisation skills, featuring rhythm section accompaniment over the solo section changes.
The new releases in Kendor Music Publishing’s 2023-2024 Jazz Ensemble catalog are available from music retailers and from the publisher. Of particular note are the Kendor Music Publishing Jazz Select Dealers: Art’s Music Shop, ejazzlines, Jamey Aebersold Jazz, J.W. Pepper & Son, Midwest Sheet Music, Music and Arts, Pender’s Music Co., Popplers Music, Quinlan and Fabish, and Stanton’s Sheet Music.
