New Releases from Kendor Music Publishing’s Esteemed String Orchestra Catalog
Lakeland, Florida (May 10, 2023) – A robust array of music debuts in Kendor Music Publishing’s 2023-2024 String Orchestra Music release. New pieces from well-respected Kendor composers and talented new voices represent a broad spectrum of grade levels and genres, offering options for a variety of concert programs. Directors will find that the new release ranges from easy 6-note holiday music to a difficult transcription of a Brahms Violin Sonata. This year’s release can be reviewed and purchased via an interactive online catalog, which includes professional recordings and ScoreVideos of each piece, as well as Composer Insights videos. These features can be used to streamline music review and as tools for students in the classroom.
“We selected this year’s pieces with two main goals in mind- pieces that are educationally sound and pieces that both students and directors will genuinely enjoy,” reveals Kendor Music Publishing’s Instrumental Editor, Blair Bielawski. “I think the catalog has an abundance of music that meets both these criteria and I know Orchestra Directors, their students and their audiences will love these new works!”
The publisher’s 2023-2024 String Orchestra release includes new works from composers Deborah Baker Monday, Peter Blair, David Bobrowitz, Larry Clark, Eric B. Davis, Erica Donahoe, Dennis Eveland, David L. Hinds, Joshua Hobbs, Brian Holmes, Kirt N. Mosier, Katie O’Hara LaBrie, Liam Ramsey-White, Steven L. Rosenhaus, Doug Spata and Peter Terry.
Each score has been carefully edited and set for ease of reading. The scores, and their accompanying parts, incorporate unique features to optimize accessibility and help facilitate efficient rehearsals. Optional bowings have been deliberately included to provide an educationally sound experience from the first read. The catalog has been organized with the following color-coded series names: Early (.5), Accent (1), Breakthrough (1.5), Voyager (2-2.5), Concert (3-3.5) and Symphonic (4 and up). These categories clearly delineate grade levels, helping directors select the most appropriate music for their ensembles.
Kendor Music Publishing’s 2023-2024 String Orchestra music is available from music retailers and from the publisher.
