Johannes Brahms
Arranged by Deborah Baker Monday
Deborah Baker Monday has done a masterful job of arranging this difficult Brahms Violin Sonata for string orchestra. All the thrilling highs and despondent lows are represented in this new arrangement. "F-A-E" refers to the German frei aber einsam which translates to "free but lonely" or "free but alone".

Rhapsody in Blue
George Gershwin
Arranged by Michael Hopkins
George Gershwin completed Rhapsody In Blue in 1924, and it was one of the first orchestral works to fuse together blues, jazz and classical styles to create a distinctly American orchestral sound, and has been a staple of American concert music for the last 100 years. This abridged arrangement for string orchestra features all of the prominent themes of the original concerto. (5:58).

The Merry Wives Of Windsor
Themes from The Overture
Otto Nicolai
Arranged by Steven Frackenpohl
The Merry Wives Of Windsor is a German opera written by Otto Nicolai in 1845 based on the Shakespearean comedy of the same name. Nicolai had achieved great success with his Italian operas, but this became a German favorite. The Overture is a success in its own right, and even inspired a short film produced by conductor Johnny Green that won the Oscar for Best Short Subject in 1954. This energetic grade 4 arrangement contains many themes from the overture and will make a great concert opener. (3:40)
