Grumpy Old St. Nick

The grumpy side of St. Nick is depicted in this clever mash-up by setting two usually cheerful carols in minor. It is very effective, and students and audiences will certainly be smiling through the entire performance.

Program Notes

I imagine, just like all humans, Santa has bad days, and I thought it would be fun to imagine what Jolly Old St. Nicholas would sound like in a minor key. In the middle, I arranged “Deck the Halls,” also in a minor key, before a final recap of the original material returns. I hope you and your group enjoy “Grumpy Old St. Nick.”
