Description

Commissioned by Pennsylvania Unit of the International Association of Jazz Educators, a lighter-is-better attitude prevails in this medium-level release. Transparent voicings, creative rhythm section parts, and expandable solos for baritone (or alto) sax and piano are highlights. The trumpet and trombone sections contain five parts each; use of mutes enriches the overall color, and the flugelhorn doubles on all trumpet parts should be played if possible.
