Description

Recorded by the University of North Texas One O’Clock Lab Band on their Lab ’95 album, the opening piano solo is a rubato, out-of-tempo intro fashioned after the music of Bill Evans. When that ends, the band enters in a relaxed, medium swing groove. Solo choruses for tenor and trumpet (or flugelhorn) and strong ensemble work provide the finishing touches. Duration 5:30.
