This accessible ballad, penned during Thad’s later years in Denmark, is a rubato study in full-band expression. It opens with fortissimo brass, transitions to a quiet midsection showcasing saxes/woodwinds, then recaps the strong opening before going out very quietly with soprano (or alto) sax and trombones only in the final bars.
