A combined 1st/2nd Violin part (16 copies in each set) promotes greater confidence in passages calling for simple double-stops on open strings. Midway through some canonic and pizzicato techniques create textural contrast; in his score notes Del Borgo stresses the importance of maintaining a steady tempo in the pizzicato section.
