Ricky Lombardo

Ricky Lombardo attended Millikin University (Decatur, IL) and graduated from Glassboro State College (Glassboro, NJ) now Rowan University where he received his BA in music education. In addition to being accomplished at both the flute and keyboard instruments, he is active in many other aspects of music, which include composing, arranging, teaching, and multiple areas of performance. He currently is director of “Flutistically Yours”, a professional flute quartet and performs extensively on accordion as both a band member and soloist. For many years, he has been the leader of the “Ricky Lombardo Orchestra”, a commercial performing ensemble. Ricky has written for numerous groups, which include brass and woodwind ensembles, concert bands, choirs, vocalists and big bands. His style is one that is very creative and has an exciting approach. The expandable flute choir concept of arranging is an example. He has numerous published compositions/arrangements to his credit, many of which have been performed worldwide. Several companies including Alry Publications, Kendor Music, and Touch of Brass represent his works. In 1995 he formed his own company, Lombardo Music Publications (LMP). Ricky retired after teaching 25 years in the New Jersey public schools of which the last 20 were in Princeton Regional Schools, Princeton, New Jersey as a band director.
