Randall Reyman

Reyman is a trumpeter and composer/arranger who is very active in both the jazz and classical genres. As a classical performer, he has performed with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Illinois Chamber Orchestra, Millikin/Decatur Symphony Orchestra, Brass Ensemble of Illinois, North Texas State Faculty Brass Quintet, and Illinois State Faculty Brass Quintet. As a member of the Millikin University Faculty Brass Quintet, he has performed across the country and abroad, working with the likes of Ronald Baron, the Canadian Brass, and the Wisconsin Brass Quintet.

As a jazz/commercial trumpeter, Mr. Reyman has performed with a wide variety of artists including Bob Hope, George Burns, Richard Williams, the Platters, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Mills Brothers, Dave Brubeck, David Liebman, Rob Parton, Ice Capades, Decatur Big Band, Broadway Big Band, Millikin Faculty Jazz Sextet, and his own West End Trio.

As Director of Jazz Activities at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, Reyman directs the Jazz Band I, which has produced two outstanding CDs entitled “”Easy To Love”” and “”Swingin’ Night and Day”” and has traveled regionally and abroad. He also teaches jazz improvisation and trumpet at the University, and is director of the annual Millikin Jazz Festival.

He attended the University of Northern Iowa, University of Illinois, North Texas State University, and Illinois State University. He has studied trumpet with Keith Johnson, John Haynie, Bill Adam, Vince Cichowicz, and Susan Slaughter. His most notable jazz teachers include Ashley Alexander and Rich Matteson. He has taught on the faculties of North Texas State University, Fort Hays State University, and Millikin University.
