Paul M. Stouffer

Born in Chambersburg, PA, he studied clarinet with Gilbert Stange and harmony with Louis Cheslock at the Peabody Conservatory. He held BA and MA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied composition with Robert Elmore and Andre Vauclain.

During his forty years of teaching, first at the Philadelphia Musical Academy and later in public and private schools in Pennsylvania and Maryland, bands under his leadership have performed throughout the mid-Atlantic region at various state and national music education conventions.

Paul is a longtime member of ASCAP and the American Composers Forum. With works listed in the catalogs of many U.S. music publishers, he has also been published by Augner Press in the UK under the names Paul Reff and A. Preisler.
