Mark Lathan

A trumpet and keyboard player, Mark Lathan is a native of the Chicago (IL) area. Exploring music of a variety of different genres throughout his career, he has composed and arranged music for big band, concert band, orchestra, various chamber ensembles and mixed chorus. Several of Lathan’s works have been recorded by the LA Flute Quartet and he was a contributing arranger for Louis Bellson’s “Sacred Concerto”, which was released on CD in 2005.

Lathan holds a Bachelor Degree in Performance from Northern Illinois University and a Ph.D. from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is presently assistant professor of Music and Humanities at Waubonsee Community College in suburban Chicago.
