Howard J. Rowe Jr.
Howard Rowe’s music for developing bands has earned a well-deserved reputation for being fun to play and tailored to the abilities of young musicians.
With degrees from Syracuse University and Ithaca College and additional study at the Eastman School of Music and Berklee College of Music, Howard taught instrumental music at all levels in the Rush-Henrietta school district for 32 years. During his teaching career, he received the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s Outstanding Music Educator Award (Band).
Mr. Rowe is a longtime member of ASCAP, the American Federation of Musicians, and the International Trumpet Guild. He has played trumpet professionally for performers including Mel Torme, Bob Hope, the Smothers Brothers and for the traveling Broadway productions of Hello Dolly, Mame, Man of La Mancha, and others.
