Gerald Felker

After graduating high school in 1981, Dr. Gerald Felker joined the U.S. Army as a trombonist and served as a member of the 3rd Armored Division Band stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. He holds degrees from the U.S. Armed Forces School of Music, Onondaga (NY) Community College, the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam (NY), and Stony Brook (NY) University.

In addition to his military band experience, Dr. Felker has performed with the Syracuse (NY) Symphony Orchestra, the Arizona Opera Company, the American Concert Band, the Concert Pops of Long Island (NY), the Atlantic Wind Symphony, the Old Bethpage (NY) Restoration Brass Band, and the Mike Carubia Big Band, as well as the back-up bands for Bernadette Peters, Natalie Cole, Al Martino, Jerry Vale, and Arturo Sandoval.

Currently, in his 23rd year of teaching, he is a band director in the Cold Spring Harbor School District on Long Island (NY). He lives with his wife Erika, their children Emily and Alex, and their dog Remington.
