In the 1970’s and 80’s, the bands of Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson and others toured all over the U.S. (and the world), bringing the sound of the modern big band to towns everywhere. “Blues Wisely” is inspired by Don Menza’s “Groove Blues”, which was recorded by Louis Bellson and his big band.
