Program Notes

“Something for Perkins” was written in honor of Maine musician Dale Perkins. A well known and respected staple of our state music scene, Dale runs a big band whose main purpose is to raise funds for school music programs. He has devoted countless hours over his career to this labor of love. The members of “Opus One” (as it is affectionately called) commissioned this chart in Dale’s honor, spearheaded by group member and good friend Doug Kennedy.
